I have worked in education for over twenty years, as a teacher and as an administrator, at the local and at the state level. I possess a 7-12 Language Arts in Secondary Education degree and an Educational Specialist degree with a K-12 Principal's license. My doctorate in Educational Leadership is in progress with Concordia University.
I believe that education is the most powerful aspect in our society, and I am proud to have served in this way.
Today's classrooms have many phenomenal features geared for student success; unfortunately, teachers are bogged-down with aligning standards in their lesson plans, preparing for standardized testing, dealing with the reality of "lost time" between 2020-2021, and struggling with classroom management. The most successful students are the ones who possess the skills, motivation, and aptitude to navigate themselves through their classes. If your child would benefit from personalized attention with their learning, I can help.
I am passionate about education. My mission is to help students feel good about themselves, and to work with them to achieve their educational goals. I am committed to helping your child succeed in their educational journey, through this pandemic and beyond.
I look forward to working with you!
About Amy's Learning Group.
Established in 2020
Ms. Amy has more than 20 years of experience as a public school teacher and administrator in Minnesota. She taught middle school, high school, worked as a multi-district administrator for K-12, and worked at the Minnesota Department of Education with the Achievement and Integration program.
Amy's Learning Group was opened in 2020 to support parents and students in managing learning during the COVID-19 crisis, and she is thrilled to have flexibility to support a variety of educational approaches as needs evolve.
Whether your student would be more comfortable meeting virtually or in the comfort of your home, Amy’s Learning Group provides private learning that will focus not just in one subject, but in all of their subjects. The goal is to empower them to take charge of their own learning and make their educational journey fun, rewarding, and successful.
Parents, I know you're busy. It would be ideal if we could just trust them online, say "Get your work done!" and that would be enough. For most kids, that's not enough. That's where Amy's Learning Group can help.
